An Exclusive Interview with Lifencolors' Co-Founder and CEO, Apourva

In a world rapidly embracing digital innovation, the timeless beauty of traditional art forms finds a new expression at LifenColors, where ancient techniques meet modern technology. Our co-founder and CEO, Apourva, has pioneered a unique approach that marries the rich heritage of traditional art with the versatility of digital design, creating breathtaking wallpapers and decor items that bring the stories of the past into the spaces of the present.

This exclusive interview delves into the philosophy behind LifenCcolors, exploring how the fusion of these art forms enhances modern living and commercial spaces. Join us as Apourva shares her vision, the journey of LifenCcolors, and a glimpse into the future of interior design where tradition and innovation coalesce to create beauty and meaning.

Apourva, as the visionary behind LifenCcolors, what inspired you to blend traditional art with digital techniques in the creation of wallpapers and decor elements?

Apourva: "The inspiration to blend traditional art with digital techniques in our wallpapers and decor elements stems from a deep appreciation for the richness of cultural heritage and the infinite possibilities of modern technology. I've always been fascinated by the stories the  traditional arts tells—each brushstroke, pattern, and color carries centuries of history, tradition, and emotion. However, as we moved further into the digital age, I noticed a gap in how these timeless pieces were being integrated into contemporary spaces. It was crucial for us to bridge this gap, to bring the warmth, depth, and diversity of traditional art into modern interiors in a way that was both accessible and sustainable.

Our journey began with exploring various art forms from around the world, understanding their significance, and then using digital technology to adapt these arts into designs that fit today's aesthetic and functional requirements.

Every wallpaper at LifenColors starts as a traditional artwork drawn from hands. It then gets converted to digital format.

For instance, our Krishna Leela Wallpaper was drawn by our artists by taking inspiration from the 16-18 century Rajput painting style. The hand drawings are then converted to digital art for wallpaper.

The digital aspect allows us to experiment with colors, scales, and textures, offering a level of customization that traditional methods alone couldn’t provide. This fusion not only honors the past but also embraces the future, allowing us to create unique, vibrant spaces that tell a story. It's about creating a dialogue between the old and the new, where each piece we design serves as a canvas that brings the beauty of global traditions into the spaces we live and work in."

In the current digital age, how do you see traditional art maintaining its relevance in interior design, especially when translated into wallpapers and decor items?

Apourva: "Traditional art is not just an aesthetic choice; it's a narrative of our collective history, emotions, and cultural identity.

Even in our rapidly digitising world, the demand for authenticity, connection, and storytelling through decor has never been stronger. Traditional art forms, when incorporated into wallpapers and decor items, serve as a bridge between the past and the present, bringing depth and soul into modern spaces. They introduce a tactile and visual diversity that digital art alone can't replicate.

By curating and transforming these art forms for contemporary interiors, we ensure that traditional art not only maintains its relevance but thrives. It offers a counterbalance to the ephemeral nature of digital trends, grounding spaces with elements that have stood the test of time. Our approach at LifenCcolors is to celebrate this richness, making it accessible and relevant to today's interior design narratives."

Can you share some insights into the process of selecting and integrating traditional art forms from around the world into Lifencolors' product lineup?

Apourva: "Our process begins with exploration and research. We delve into the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of traditional art forms from various corners of the globe. The selection process is thoughtful and deliberate, focusing on art that tells a compelling story, showcases unique techniques, and has a visual appeal that can transcend cultural boundaries. Integration involves a careful balance of preserving the art's essence while adapting it for modern use.

Our team collaborates with artists, historians, and technology experts to ensure that each piece respects its origins while being versatile for contemporary applications. This includes adjusting color schemes, scaling patterns, and experimenting with materials to create wallpapers and decor items that fit modern aesthetics and sustainability standards. It's a collaborative, respectful process that aims to celebrate and perpetuate the beauty and diversity of global artistic traditions."

Looking towards the future, how do you envision the evolution of traditional art in the realm of interior design, and what role will Lifencolors play in this evolution?

Apourva: "The future of interior design lies in storytelling, sustainability, and personaliszation—principles deeply embedded in traditional art. As we move forward, I see traditional art becoming even more integral to design, not just as decorative elements but as foundational inspirations for creating spaces that are meaningful, sustainable, and reflective of a global tapestry of cultures.

LifenColors is at the forefront of this movement, continuously exploring innovative ways to merge traditional art with cutting-edge technology. Our role is to be a conduit for cultural exchange, bringing the rich tapestries of the world into everyday spaces. We're committed to pushing the boundaries of design, ensuring that traditional art doesn't just evolve but leads the way in creating spaces that are vibrant, diverse, and deeply connected to the human experience. As we look to the future, LifenColors will continue to champion the cause of traditional art, making it an indispensable part of modern interior design."
