"Gifted this to a friend in the US and they absolutely loved it. Good quality, neat finishing, and it arrived in perfect condition. Great traditional craft."

Complete the Look
Kurma & Matsya — two avatars of Vishnu. A natural pair.

Kurma, Vishnu's tortoise avatar, bore a mountain on his back to keep the world from sinking. This hand-embroidered pair carries the same quiet strength.
Each shell is worked in Zardozi-style embroidery — metallic thread, sequins, and fine beads raised in high relief, set in the geometric pattern of a real tortoise shell. The two charms hang from a champagne twisted-silk cord, made by hand in India.
Made to move through your home. Loop the cord around a curtain and let the pair fall against the fold. Hang it from a mirror corner, a wardrobe handle, or a brass hook by the door. Tie it at the neck of a tall vase. Set it on a tray as a quiet centrepiece.
Sold as a pair on a single silk cord. Hand-embroidered. Made in India.

Because our tiebacks are handcrafted by artisans, no two are exactly alike. Variations in finish and embroidery material are a hallmark of their handmade journey, making your piece truly one-of-a-kind.

Some designs feature brass-style accents and hand-embroidery, whereas others have intricate laces, gotas, beads and thread work. We use a mix of materials, velvets, linens, cotton, and jute, using different surface techniques
-
Handling: Avoid pulling on individual beads or sequins. Lift the tieback by the cord, not the embroidered motif.
Cleaning: Dry clean only. Avoid water, spot cleaners, or steam — moisture can tarnish metalwork and loosen bead adhesion.
Storage: If not in use, wrap loosely in tissue paper and store flat. Don't stack heavy items on top.
-
1- Position the hook or nail: Place a small hook or nail on the wall, roughly 2/3 of the way up from the floor (or at the height where you want the curtain to drape).
2- Loop the tieback: Gather your curtain panel to one side. Loop the tieback cord around the curtain, then hook the loop onto the wall nail.
3: Adjust the drape: Spread the curtain fabric above and below the tieback for a natural, full drape. The parrot motif should face outward.
-
Every tieback is hand-finished by our artisans — tassels knotted, beadwork set and cords finished by hand, to order. Because each pair is made for you, we're unable to accept returns or cancellations once an order is placed.
Exchanges are considered only where a piece arrives damaged or incorrect — write to us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs and we'll set it right.
A note on colour and fit: Our images are shot in a studio under controlled lighting. Handcrafted pieces carry small variations in thread, tassel fall and bead placement — that's the nature of the craft, not a flaw. Colour will also read differently under daylight, warm bulbs and evening light. Please check the length on the product page against your curtain gather before ordering.
